Richard J. Parkington

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Richard J. Parkington is responsible for developing and implementing STG’s technical solutions. Mr. Parkington directly oversees STG’s team of Solution Architects, internal IT and QA departments, and leverages support from technical experts throughout the organization. This ensures STG delivers high-value, reduced-risk innovation that is intuitive and technically implementable for customer missions.

Mr. Parkington has more than 35 years of experience delivering technology solutions to Government and industry. He is a recognized innovation leader in the technology community and has spoken at national and international conferences on a range of technical topics, including cloud computing, cyber security, data management, managed services, and mission-focused social media.

Before joining STG, Mr. Parkington served as CTO of the Intelligence Solutions Division at General Dynamics and prior to that he served as CTO at Sarnoff Corporation. He holds an M.S. in Engineering and Information Management from The George Washington University, an M.A. in International Relations from Salve Regina University, an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy. Prior to industry, he served a distinguished 21-year career as a U.S. Navy pilot.
